How to aid typhoon relief efforts

Foreign governments and agencies have announced major relief efforts to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Here are some of the organizations and how to contribute:


AmeriCares: Preparing to deploy an emergency-response team to the Philippines. Donations: americares.org.

American Red Cross: It has activated its family-tracing services. Donations: Mail a check to a local Red Cross chapter, with "Philippines Typhoons and Flood" in the memo line.
